Welcome to Pontardawe, The Heart of the Tawe Valley

About

Many new businesses have taken residence in Pontardawe Town over recent years. Together with existing business and local bodies, there seemed to be a general desire to create a collective voice for the Traders and Commercial entities in Pontardawe. A meeting was organised at the end of the summer 2007 to assess the interest in forming such a body. There was good interest shown, and the process of setting up an Association was started.

The rest is now History.

The Chamber of Trade has been a big voice in the Regeneration Plan for Pontardawe. We are partners in the Valley Tourism Strategy, and are a consultive body for the Council on any business and organisational issues in Pontardawe.
We have been instrumental in the organisation of the Seasonal Festivals of the Town, aiming to breathe some life, vitality and fun into the Town Centre. It is our aim to re-capture the title of ‘Market Town’ back for Pontardawe. All this, and it is run on a purely voluntary basis.

If you are thinking of setting up a business in Pontardawe we can offer a wealth of experience, as our members have gone through the process, we know the pitfalls, and the advantages.

If you are thinking of setting up an organisation or community event, we can also help, as our members again have huge background knowledge and experience in these areas.
Or if you simply want to get involved with the events, and in shaping the future of Pontardawe please contact us.

Meetings

We hold monthly general meetings on the second Tuesday of every calendar month, at Pontardawe Arts Centre, 7pm start. These are open to all.
